My name is Alex Gorbatchev and I’ve been developing for the web and desktop since 1998 (professionally that is). I started coding back in grade school when I was 12 and enjoyed things like Basic, Pascal, Turbo Pascal, C and Turbo C. I later moved on to Objective Pascal in Delphi and C++ which finally landed me in the land of the web with Perl, PHP and MySQL. At the same time I started using Photoshop 5, Illustrator and Flash. I now know Photoshop, Illustrator and Fireworks as the back of my hand, which doesn’t mean I have much creative talent in me, although I do get by.
Around year 2000 I tried the first beta of .NET framework and fell in love with its simplicity and speed. I’ve spent the next 5 years developing ASP.NET application full time and saw the rise of .NET platform from.
My time is now divided between 80% Flash and 20% ASP.NET development. My free time is spent in Ruby On Rails which I’ve picked up in late 2006 and tremendously enjoy.
